Getting down to it for real

So my goal for right now was to have everything pretty much edited and be adding the music, but TJ, my musician friend, can't get the music to me until he gets back to LA, he's been sticking around New Haven after Yale's quarter is up to finish up on extra curriculars, then he's going to LA where his friend has this huge studio and all the equipment and programs he needs to make the music.  He said he would have it for me by Sunday, which means I'll add it on monday and be able to turn it in either monday or tuesday.  Still, as a back up, I've emailed some artists asking for permission to use their pieces in my video, and they've not emailed me back.  I figure worse comes to worst, I'll make something up myself on Garageband or something.  I'm pretty confident in TJ tho, he just go the dates mixed up, but I believe he's good on his word.  

I'm not used to this approach to filmmaking.  I have experience in film making, but I always have an idea of what I want, very specifically.  Like I usually don't even start until I have a very detailed storyboard laid out.  This time I just dove in, gathering inspiration as i gathered resources.  In theory this should be an adventure.  It is, i suppose, and adventure in some aspects.  But not the kind of adventures Dora the Explorer takes.  This is Gooneys-type shit.  Hopefully I'll find a pirate ship full of precious trinkets.    

Can somebody bring a camera/tape with them to shoot the title today?  My camera video quality isn't amazing, plus I've already used like, 4 tapes.  :-/

Interviews

I shot some interviews today.  They went well and I'm excited to start finding visuals to accompany the speeches.  

Usually it's like pulling teeth to get help on projects.  Usually it's like, getting people to try to act though.  Like memorize a script and such.  So i guess this project is a little different.  But still, I mention it to people, just in casual conversation, and I get rxns like, "ooh that's awesome!  I wanna be a part of that!"  Seriously, interviews are like, falling into my lap.  I just hope I can do them justice.  :-)  Don't forget to meet at my house at 4:30 on Thursday to shoot the title sequence.  The addy is on the previous post.  Call for directions or questions, (513) 885-5240

Wheeee!

Hey guys.  My addy is 72 E. Frambes Ave.  It's like two houses past Tuller.  

Let's meet here at 4:30 this Thursday, the 21.  Everyone bring their color of paint.  Whatever kind you want to use, although try to stray away from like, oil based paints.  We want stuff that's runny, so that rules out acryllic paint.  I'm planning on just going to the kids crafts section of wal mart and buying one of those big bottles of water based paint.

Materials

I'm heading to wal mart to grab some big black sheets.  I think today i am going to just film some black things, just kind of in my room with the stuff I already have.  I'm trying to think of things that are cool to look at that are black. My favorite one right now is like, when girls who wear makeup cry, their black mascara streams down their face.  So that's kind of cool looking.  I think might try to film that today.  I'll get my room mate to do it though, cause my skin's not very pretty :-/.  You think that dot at the end of the smiley is a period to end the sentence.  It's not.  It's a pimple.  Even textually, my skin clearly sucks.  

I was also thinking we could work together through the filming of this stuff.  Like if we need a camera person for whatever reason, or someone to help set up lights or whatever, we should use each other as resources.  If we need to.  Of course I don't mean to volunteer anyone but myself. 

Really I just need to go shopping.  Damn.  

How do i see other people's blogs?

Everytime I go to someone else's blog, I am redirected to a screen that says I have to be invited by that person to see their blog, but I can't contact them to get an invitation.  I feel like this isn't supposed to be this hard :-/
